7/6/2020· Look at the tank pressure with the cap off... should read between .002 +.002 slightly more or less means the tank pressure sensor is suspect. Lots more than those numbers means it''s knackered. Put the cap back on and start her up. Watch the tank pressure. It should stay reasonably steady. It should rise or drop a tiny amount but not a lot.

21/6/2020· The gas cap was not original so bought the NAPA Stand cap and put it on. Not the fix . I then used silicon spray on the first cap to allow smoother seating and made sure tight, was trouble free for a couple days then P0455 set used the scanner to erase the code and I retightened it and was good for a couple days then the tighten gas cap message appeared.

The O2 sensor is part of the fuel delivery feedback loop. The gas cap is part of the evaporative emissions control circuit. These are completely independant systems and the control unit has separate error codes for those systems. IMO, the gas cap causing an O2 sensor error is about as likely as the hub cap.

1/1/2017· The gas cap works along with components like the charcoal canister and EVAP purge valve and/or solenoid, to allow fumes from the fuel tank to be vented forward to the engine where they are burned off during normal engine operation. It is possible one of those can be the cause of the continued gas cap light fault.

Wear seatbelt and sit properly in the seat, and the airbag sensor should be fine too. Might be triggered more from a smaller built person especially if the person is fidgeting/moving their body off the backrest.

P0455 Tighten gas cap, engine light. Since October 2008, I have replace the gas cap twice, the evap vent solenoid, and the fuel filler neck assembly. The lights come back on with in a day or two. The dealership states they are not aware of any of these problems, and there are no recalls.
This weekend, my 2011 Honda Pilot (12000 mile) started showing “Tighten Fuel cap” sign. I opened the fuel cap close it again tightly to make sure it is properly closed but the sign did not go away. I tried it couple of times with no success (I even shutdown the engine, restart it). So I was thinking to take it to my dealer after the weekend.
