19/5/2014· I located the IR sensor on the X1 box with a bright flashlight. There is a big round thing behind the glass to the right of "record" marked led. Once I positioned the remote extender transmitter on the IR sensor it worked fine. Apparently X1 sensor is not very sensitive and needs to be directly in front IR transmitter.

Where is the sensor on my TV? Many TVs have a light sensor and an IR sensor. In some models the sensors are sidebyside, but in some models the light sensor is in the center of the bottom bezel, but the IR sensor is in the lowerright corner of the bezel. You tape the LED at the end of the cable to the IR reciever on your cable box and the box recieves the signals as if they are coming from the comcast remote. At least that''s how my setup works, I know some cable boxes do have a control input so they can be driven directly. No idea if yours does.

I plugged one end of the IR Extender cable into the ''Serial Service only'' post, and then stuck the receiver on to the bottom right hand side of hte tv. It worked as an IR extender.
7/5/2010· I placed the Purple (end of cord) TV IR Blasters on TOP of the DTA Box on the far end AWAY from the green light. I then placed the IR EXTENDER on the tv frame under the cable box and directly under where the Purple extenders were. It worked! I have had every channel change as it''s suppose to be. No more missed digits (as of right now)
